Hey guys, the buildings for my display board are finished, so I went back at painting Eldar. Next up is a Forge World Avatar, and damn, he’s a gorgeous sculpt. I love this model since it was released and I’m happy to finally add one to my collection. It’s also a very fragile model, I managed to snap off the ear ring, several hair strands, the fin on the shoulder and a finger, just by toppling the model over. I was able to repair everything but the ear ring. Sad face.
Painting-wise, I thought of doing something different than the usual lava paint scheme. So I went for something… pink. What do you think? 😀

Stahly is the founder of Tale of Painters. He lives in Craftworld Hamburg, located in the north of Germany, where he walks the Path of the Graphic Designer. He transitioned from Lego to Games Workshop models at the tender age of 11 and didn't look back ever since. He is known for bold colour schemes and sharp edge highlights, which he paints with typical German perfectionism (one of the reason he is such a notoriously slow painter).
That looks awesome! What other colours are you going to use? (The yellow masking tape goes quite well)
Turquoise, to match the main colour of my craftworld and for a nice 80s vibe! 😉
I look forward to the updates, I reckon it'll be good!
Interesting: I'm very curious to see all the steps and the final results, surely it is not going to be banal!
Like the pink, particularly with the yellowish masking paper, though the lava version is of course classic. On first glance I thought you had given him a bucket helm and now I kinda want to see that happen.^^
It seem odd to me that a model at least partially designed to be used in games is so fragile.
Also: Brings back memories of that one teacher who would put paper bags over the heads of students he considered too ugly to endure looking at.
