A super quick one. I painted this model much earlier this year when the Warrior of Chaos models had just been released. I always liked the way it turned out, but at the time a lot of people over on another painting site really had a problem with it, especially the horses. I was constantly being told to finish it off 🙂 As I remember I was trying to go with a Lord of the Rings 70’s cartoon vibe. The cartoon art would often be very minimal in parts and detailed in others. What do you guys think? If you don’t like I’m not going to take offense as at the time it as more an experiment.

Hey thanks all for the positive feedback 🙂
sorry, have to say it: definitely unfinished look of this model:-/ not my cup of tea. the white looks like it is still the basic grey from the sprue…
I have to say it's amazing, love it so much.
3rd Eye, you know I have been critical of your style before but I am starting to come around on it. If you see these models in pictures you can easily go through and pick out every imperfection. What we often don't realize is that in real life these models must be insane to look at!
Yes, there is overspray…yes there are some areas that look underpainted or unfinished.
But when I imagine what this model must look like in person…I imagine it being pretty AWESOME!
Hey thanks Tim 🙂
To me it´s me miniature waht i don´t really like…. but the color scheme and de painting is superb !!!
oh and also I'd love to see how you set up your workspace, and what your 'tools of your trade' are in terms of paints used, airbrush set up, and in the future I would totally love to see how you decide on colour palettes.
Hey thanks, I'm planning on doing a piece on my work space. Its a complete mess but thought it would be funny to show it as it is.
Mate, I love your rough and raw style, you obviously take artistic license with fine detail, and I notice you like to liberally use your airbrush and make the best of their perceived 'drawbacks' i.e. overspray, splatter, etc. etc.
I actually want to learn how you do this to such great effect, and also with such a clear 'style' I'm pretty sure I could pick your minis out from just about any line up.
I've been meaning to ask you if you could do a 'wip to finish' series on taleofpainters to show us how you do your magic…
I actually quite like the palid horses, very 'Nurgley', looks like pestilence and almost ethereal. Horseman of the apocalypse style.
Hey man, I love the bases you do. Whats your recipe? whenever i try to airbrush my bases they end up just looking too muddy.
Hi Henry, Usually I airbrush the bases Vallejo light grey, followed by areas round the sides with Vallejo Earth brown, and then brown grey which I then airbrush again mixing black into the brown grey. All the paints I use for this are Vallejo model air colours.
I think it looks really good, don't see why people thought it wasn't finished.
