Hey all, today I thought I’d share the beginnings of a KV128 Stormsurge that I picked up about a week ago.
I still have a lot to do but most of the basics have been done. I’m really impressed with what Games Workshop have done with this model and all the new Tau that have been coming out. Its finally nice to get away from the never ending summer releases of Stormcast Eternals. With this model I’m going for a similar look to a Riptide that I painted a few years ago.
The tan/white effect of the model was built up from using Vallejo model air 035 cam pale brown, followed by Vallejo 027 light brown and then finally Vallejo game colour 734 bonewhite. I used GW sepia washes in areas to add toning. Hopefully I should have this model finished later today and posted up in the coming week. What do you guys think of the new Tau releases?

I like it . J
From what I have seen before by you, this thing will look amazing. Rob
Great looking mini so far – I love how grounded it looks due to the way you've based it. Very compact and daunting. It suits your gritty style nicely.
Personally I'm loving all of the new Tau releases – they are a brilliant looking faction and will probably be the next 40k army project I undertake.
Cheers Technasma 🙂
