Painting goes pretty slowly for these chaps. I can hardly find spare time for painting at the moment. Please bear with me. Nevertheless, the end is nigh on this second batch of Tartaros Terminators for my Blood Angels collection. I need to work on the last remaining details and then add some transfers. I like how they are shaping up. What do you think?
And are you excited for Deathwatch Overkill? I think I might get a box, even though I probably won’t be able to paint the models before retirement 😉

Stahly
Stahly hails from Craftworld Germany and has been involved with Warhammer since childhood. He has painted several armies and countless warbands and Kill Teams over the decades, and founded Tale of Painters in 2011. When he's not painting miniatures incredibly slowly, he's testing the latest paints, tools and kits with German precision and a no non-sense attitude.
I'm excited for Deathwatch!! I had no idea this set was coming out, I must be the only person who missed all the rumours. Been thinking about painting the start collecting space marines as a kill team and just using the formation rules from the box but now they have their own formation I think I'll change that! Speaking of which I don't normally but White Dwarf but thought I would this time for rules but none of my local newsagents have it and GW want £3.50 to deliver it!
Like the sculpts on these and paint work is nicely done.
Cheers
Kevin
Hey don;t rush to paint all your minis. Technically we can't be killed until our last mini is painted, rendering us essentially immortal 😛
Crisp and beautiful as ever Stahly. Really lovely models 🙂
RETIREMENT? :O
Lovely work as ever. Whats your recipe for the blond hair. It 'pops' more than the GW standard mix I use?
I ordered the Deathwatch box set on Saturday morning. Yet another set for my 'to do' list!
Hi Andrew, you can find the recipe in my Death Company tutorial: http://taleofpainters.blogspot.de/2015/04/tutorial-how-to-paint-blood-angels.html Basecoat is Averland Sunset.
I saw tbe tutorial there. Its very good indeed. I noted it was for assault marine helmet. You use the same paints for blond hair…interesting. they certainly stand out. I do like the mixing of the ba head with the forgeworld kits, they work well together.
Ah no, the helmets of my Assault Squad were painted with much brighter yellows: http://taleofpainters.blogspot.com/2014/02/tutorial-how-to-paint-blood-angels.html?utm_source=bp_recent2&utm-medium=gadget&utm_campaign=bp_recent2 Base colour for the helmets was VGC Gold Yellow (more similar to Yriel Yellow), for the blonde hair Averland Sunset.
