Today I can present you my fully painted Dark Reapers squad, part of my Craftworld Iybraesil collection. As always with Aspect Warriors squads, I quite enjoyed working on these, so make sure to check out all the pictures after the jump.
I quite anticipated painting these guys. In the past few months, every now and then I thought about potential paint schemes. Very early on I took the decision to not paint them in a regular, flat black. I brooded over various ideas like dark purple, but in the end, I settled for a very dark metallic colour. The basecoat was Reaper Master Series Adamantium Black, gently drybrushed with Army Painter Gun Metal, washed by Nuln Oil Gloss and finally highlighted with Gun Metal.
Notice how the Exarch doesn’t carry a specialised Exarch weapon. I found that the Exarch weapons that come with kit look a bit oversized, so I had to source another Reaper Missile Launcher for the squad.
Another addition to my expanding Iybraesil collection completed. What do you think? Tell me in the comments.
Really like the paint scheme, the black armour looks suitably dark and foreboding as it should be for the Reapers
I think I prefer all models on a 32mm just makes the models pop more.
As I am not a rules lawyer or competitive gamer and play for story and building and painting models of the enjoyment all my models now are moving in that direction.
