Hey guys, I’m working on the first batch of Death Company models for my small Blood Angels collection. So far I’m really enjoying the painting. The models are exceptionally detailed, thankfully the black armour doesn’t take as long to paint as red armour, as there is no need for shading. On the other hand, I feel you need to be extra tidy when highlighting black, as you notice every uneven paint streak immediately. Now I need to put some more work into the metal, purple and white/bone areas. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish this batch this weekend. What do you think?

Stahly hails from Craftworld Germany and has been involved with Warhammer since childhood. He has painted several armies and countless warbands and Kill Teams over the decades, and founded Tale of Painters in 2011. When he's not painting miniatures incredibly slowly, he's testing the latest paints, tools and kits with German precision and a no non-sense attitude.
Clean paint job as always Stahly. It's a treat to watch you get those crisp highlights meticulously.
So far they are lookin good!! MKV is a cool touch of Heresy era 😉
Stahly, very clean as always. What are the colours you are using across the model?
Hi Anthony, you can find all the paint recipes in this tutorial: http://taleofpainters.blogspot.de/2014/02/tutorial-how-to-paint-blood-angels.html
Only thing not covered is the light cream/white. It's a basecoat of Pallid Wych Flesh, P3 Hammerfall Khaki for shading (Karak Stone should be similar), Pallid Wych Flesh + White for the first highlight and pure white for the second.
Stahly, thank you. I am looking to use the core colours for the Death Company in my Lamenters, and will change the red for yellow.
