What a fantastic motivator knowing that your next Conquest issues could arrive soon. It has really spurred me on to finish these models from the current issue. These three Deathguard are from issue 1. The guy in the middle was my test scheme. The guy on the left is the model I’ve painted and documented each step for an up and coming tutorial (check back soon) and the guy on the right is next in line to be painted. I’m having a blast painting something different.

Actually that would have been issue 2 they came in, otherwise, excellent work!
They look great, may I ask how you did the face on the dude in front?
Good news Brett, I'm working on a Pox Walker tutorial that shares the same technique for painting this guys face. That tutorial is going live next week. But to answer your question briefly, it's rakarth flesh, screamer pink watered down wash, rakarth flesh, kislev flesh and then ulthuan grey. I'll expand on this in more detail in the tutorial.
Thanks and that’s awesome news! I was worried it wouldn’t get covered. Love the tutorials, you guys do the best ones on all the interwebs. Keep em coming!
They look really cool. I especially like the bone white helmet1
Thanks, I'm really happy with the bone helmet too. I like straying from official schemes and adding my own personal touches.
Fairly different from your very clean space marine style I like it, a lot.
I'm finding the imminent release of Shadespire 2,has really prompted me to get a wriggle on with my shadespire 1 warbands…
