Showcase: Aeldari Webway Gates (incl. paint recipes)

Here are my Aeldari Webway Gates, painted in a pale wraithbone colour that matches the colour scheme of the broken Aeldari architecture of the bases of my Craftworld Iybraesil and Ulthwé collection. In this post, I’ll share all my paint recipes if you want to paint yours in a similar style.

I reviewed this set a while ago, find out more about my thoughts on this kit here. In a nutshell, I quite like the aesthetics of the gates, but I think if they designed it to look more antique with some broken pieces and deterioration it would have been even cooler and more in line with all the ruin pieces you find on the bases of models like Howling Banshees, Harlequins, and characters like the plastic Farseer and Autarch.

Paint recipes

Primer: Corax White
Airbrush basecoat: RMS Polished Bone

Wraithbone structure
Selective shade: Gryphonne Sepia
Drybrush: Pallid Wych Flesh
Drybrush: VMC White

Brass ornaments
Basecoat: VGC Brassy Brass
Drybrush: Sycorax Bronze
Wash: Gryphonne Sepia
Highlight: VMechaC Light Steel

Abbreviations: OOP = old Citadel paint range (out of production), VGC = Vallejo Game Color, VMC = Vallejo Model Color, VMechaC = Vallejo Mecha Color, P3 = Privateer Press Formula P3, TAP = The Army Painter Warpaints, RMS = Reaper Master Series, GSW = Greenstuff World, S75 = Scale 75 Scale Color

And that’s it, a plain and simple paint job for my Aeldari Webway Gates. And a cool scenic shot with a printed “portal” backdrop.
