I’m trying something old and new today. The old is sharing a pic of the Spoilpox Scrivener battling the Soulblight Gravelords in a picturesque 1990s Warhammer Fantasy Battle setting. The only thing missing is the square bases! If you weren’t around for Warhammer in the 90s then you wouldn’t know that every photo in White Dwarf was this. Rolling green hills, lush trees and terrain made from polyfilla and cardboard. Even the 40k pictures looked the same. It was awesome!

The Spoilpox Scriveners are heralds of Nurgle tasked with keeping tally of all the plagues spread by their Plaguebearers. They also enjoy keeping their Plaguebearers in line and punishing them if they do wrong. They’re really spiteful, the polar opposite of their joyful Nurgling kin.

I really enjoyed painting this model. It took around 4 days to finish and I’m happy with the end result. I particularly lie the feather which is apparently taken from the tail of a Lord of Change. I might have to remember that when it comes to painting my Lord of Change.

In the introduction I mentioned I wanted to try something new. Well here it is, a recipe card. This isn’t to replace the detailed tutorials we make here on Tale of Painters. Instead it’s a separate resource that’s easy to view on any device and gives a quick reference to the colours I used.
