Small update on the Storm Raven front. I’ve painted some freehand icons on to the wings. I’m really happy with the outcome of these. They’re completely flat, but have a raised look to them. You might also notice I’ve used a really dark blue to line all the armour plates on the Storm Raven… that took some time in itself.
As to the question about should I weather or not… I’m thinking a little bit of weathering but not too much. I won’t chip the armour though, just going to add smoke/exhaust damage to key areas.

Epic freehand, really beautiful.
Thanks guys! I'm hoping to spend some time on this over the 4 day weekend in-between mountain biking sessions and trying out the new GW paints.
That's amazing work Garfy, I'm astounded.
I agree with Matthew, the Grey Knights look after their equipment and vehicles – don't go overboard with the weathering, perhaps just some oil stains and a little grime from the exhaust and general flying-about?
Amazing freehand – I as well thought it was a resin icon that was painted. I cant wait to see further updates as this army as a whole will look spectacular once completed.
I would argue for a little weathering, space marines take good care of their equipment and expect Grey Knights would especially so. Beautiful freehand Garfy, at a glance I thought I was looking at a resin cast icon.
This looks pretty sweet, but I would go for a lot of weathering. Especially on silver, little weathering looks a little "toyish" imo
