With the Orctress finally built, it’s time to detail the board. Learn what I used to detail the foamcoare with after the jump.
That’s right, plaster cloth. This is the stuff doctors wrap broken limbs up with and your friends sign your cast with a pen. All you do is cut off strips, dip in water, squeeze some of the excess water off and apply to your model. I’ve just used it to blend the foamcoare layers together and to make the board less perfectly flat and make the surface a bit more irregular.
This close up shows you what the kind of effect you can get looks like. I used the plaster cloth to blend the Orctress walls into the ground. I used a hot glue gun to stick the fort to the base before building up the ground around it.
Stay tuned for another instalment soon.
