I made these pain tokens to record the number of enemy units slaughtered by my own units so I can keep track of the benefits bestowed on my blood soaked units.
Using a small flying base, I pushed a mound of milliput putty onto it and then using an entire (20 models) zombie regiment I pushed the parts into the putty leaving space on the top to push a wet dice into. The dice is wet so the putty doesn’t stick and I can retrieve it.
I sprayed them black and then dry brushed with a few shades of red. I then mixed black with red wash and gloss varnish and painted it all over the pieces. Finally I gloss varnished the pieces to mix them glossy (well duh) and to make them hard wearing as gaming pieces.

That is just top quality! You could make a living out of those.
great idea! they are so awesome!
An ENTIRE box of zombies! lol!
brilliant though… just brilliant!
Ah what a brilliant idea. I wish I had used D3s now. Oh well these could be used as any kind of counter for any of my armies, although the Ultramarines might have some explaining to the Inquisition for why they're dragging around slaughtered trophies.
Good idea, but isn't the maximum for pain tokens three? Why not make stands that hold a D3?
Very good idea. one more kudos!
Very nicely done. I was going to go the skeleton route but now you are making me think this zombie gore route looks awesome!
Very nice! Little things like this really help add character to an army and make it memorable.
Absolutely Awsome! 🙂 greate Idea!
