Absolutely love these – and your paintjob is just right for them.
My only comment is that the brown grass on the base doesn't look very good; I'd just stick to rusting junk personally (and get the brown and orange tones from the rust instead).
Impressive painting job! Seeing this Escher model… it brings back souvenirs from almost 15 years ago.
Keep up the excellent work!
Fantastic colour palette and execution. I followed a link to this page and my jaw hit the floor when that mini popped up. I recently finished a massive skaven army too and am enjoying painting bright miniatures (daemons) for a change.
One of the few things I never finished painting was my Escher gang. Escher was the last original gang to come out, by the time it did, we'd mainly stopped playing Necro and I'd moved away. I converted my gang and primed four of them smelly white and started on my black, purple, and green paint scheme.
I really would like Necro to get refreshed. It's campaign system was flawed, Bloodbowl and GorkaMorka seemed to work better in practice, but Necro was a fun game to play one off.
Good work!
I've actually acquired even more Necro figs as I planned on using them as Chaos Cultists before GW decided to start making Chaos Cultists again. I also think of doing some sort of Necro VS Zombies demo game at a con… So many ideas, so little time and opportunity. I have to live vicariously through the blogosphere still.
Awesome painting. I love brightly painted minis. This works for me.
Indeed. After my Skaven army, which featured a more muted palette with whom I wasn't completely happy in the end, I wanted to have vibrant colours, a strong contrasting paint scheme and sharp highlights, as this is what I can do best.
Agree! Would like the recipe for the purple as well 🙂
No criticisms; looks great.
Nice, lovely job.
The base is awesome and the purple simply thrilling.
What colours did you use for the purple? (I'd like to use it for my marines 🙂
I used Screamer Pink as a basecoat, shaded with VGC Black Ink and highlighted with Pink Horror first and VGC Squid Pink second.
Thank you! My Emperor's Children will be grateful.
The first commander will be called Stahlyst 😉
