Hi everyone! I’ve finished my Blood Bowl Human team! I’m really pleased with them, and thoroughly enjoyed painting them. Click to see more photos of the team after the jump!
I wanted to get in on the Blood Bowl hype and paint a team, I decided to go with the Human team because I think the sculpts are really nice and full of character. I also thought they lended quite nicely to my favourite style of painting. I decided to paint them red, as this is my favourite colour. For the paint scheme, I decided to go with complimentary colours, and I thought white squad numbers and markings on the armour would contrast nicely with the red. The red armour is Mephiston Red, shaded Agrax Earthshade, and highlighted Wild Rider Red. I decided to go for a cream colour for the clothes, as I thought this would contrast and stand out nicely against the red armour. I painted the clothes in Rakarth Flesh, shaded Agrax Earthshade, and highlighted Rakarth Flesh and Pallid Wych Flesh.
The armour was weathered by applying Rhinox Hide with a sponge to create small chips, I also painted on scratches with this too. I then highlighted the chips with Wild Rider Red.
The skin on the models was painted Cadian Fleshtone, shaded with a 50:50 mix of Reikland Fleshshade and Lahmian Medium, highlighted with Cadian Fleshtone and Kislev Flesh.
As I mentioned before, I thoroughly enjoyed painting these and I’m really happy with how they have turned out. I’m looking forward to using them in a game, as I have never played a game of Blood Bowl yet! Although, I’m glad I’ll be using a fully painted team for my first game!
