This beast absolutely fills the large oval base. It’s absolutely huge and covered in detail. Such a joy to paint and worth every penny. After the jump there are a further seven photos including one of the Forgefiend facing off against a Dreadknight.
This was such a great project to work on for a couple of weeks. It’s a real centre piece model and i’m pleased to have another unit painted for my slowly growing Black Legion army. Let me know in the comments below if you enjoyed following this project, or if you have any questions.

Lovely paintjob.
Really nice.
Wow, Garfy. You've outdone yourself.
Thanks Michael. I really put a lot into this. I'm pleased with the outcome.
Super fantastic.
Thank you. Glad you like it.
There are honestly no words I have in my vocabulary to express my sheer awe at this. I love the texture of the open muscles and the flames of the furnace. Is there a tutorial for how to do the muscles, I vaguely remember that you did a tutorial for the Chosen Marine at the bottom. Forgive me if I'm wrong and it isn't a chosen marine. Great work again Garfy!
Hi Pr0Golf3r, steps 8 to 12 with show you how I paint the daemonic skin.

I think he's pretty darn cool looking 🙂
Thanks man. It's a great model. I checked out your forgefiend a couple of times to inspire me to pick up my brushes. 😀
L-O-V-E-L-Y 🙂
I envy you that you can paint such a huge model in such a short time.
Just under two weeks I think which included a little smurf distraction. I had a deadline to work to (Apoc release) so I put in extra hours in the evening and stayed up late.
Wow! I'm impressed. I had a hell of a time wading through the details on my DV chosen, but you seemed to just breeze through all that detail!
I struggled with my chosen as well. The forgefiend is easy in comparison.
Stunning and very neat paintjob(s)! I really like the Forgefiend… I daresay that's the best Black Legion one I've seen so far.
The fleshy parts are done really well. The highlights on the black areas… And even the bronze. Can't say what I like best as everything is just great!
Too bad one of the chimney's fins is broken…
Fixed. That's the problem with my photography, you can see EVERYTHING.
I think that looks really nice, especially with the magma/lava stripes in the chest armour. Good work!
Thanks, I wasn't sure about the magma, I almost painted these areas fluorescent green to match my Chaos Sorcerer, I'm pleased I didn't in the end.
