My Deathstorm set nears completion with another unit completed. This time it’s the turn of the heavily armoured terminators of the Blood Angels 1st company.
I painted all the chapter icons by hand. They’re ok, maybe a touch too big, but they’ll do.
I also carefully painted the powersword using the guide power weapon section of my Grey Knight tutorial. Really happy with how this turned out.
Captain Karlaen and his personal bodyguard of terminators materialise in front of a teleport homer.
I only have five Death Company marines left to paint to complete the Deathstorm box. I might have a break from the set for a bit. I want to paint my Tyranid Warrior Primes and touch up my existing warriors. Watch this space.

The switch of lens colour is deliberate (top marks for spotting the change!)
I'm trying to think ahead and plan my larger Imperial Army. I want all powerswords and lens and bases to match even though it will be made up from several chapters. Also trying to work a way of red bolter cases into the force. My Grey Knights and second company Ultramarines have red bolter cases. My Dark Angels and Space Wolves and death company will. It's just this lone squad of terminators that don't. I'm thinking of repainting them, I'm scared it's too much red though?
Nah, there is plenty of red on the armour, should be fine.
Love the lenses and the NMM work, thoroughly astounding.
You had shown a purple eye lens in your Space Hulk tutorial but have used a more blue tone this time. Is that due to fluff or just personal aesthetics?
I should do really. Maybe I'll come back to it.
Paint job is great! One question, do you intend to put names on the banners? For example, there are ones on a power fist, a leg, the standard for the sergeant. I notice some people do, some don't. It looks incredibly tough to put Gothic lettering on such a small place, just asking.
Hot damn, that NMM banner is fantastic.
Thanks Snake88. Crux's are just layered up Eshin Grey then Dawnstone with Administratum Grey Highlights.
Excellent work as always. The power sword does look stunning! How did you paint the crux terminatus's?
