Carrying on the proud tradition of hobby recaps and resolutions on Tale of Painters it’s my turn today to pledge my 2016 hobby goals and recap what I actually achieved during 2015. Read on to see what I have planned and what I managed to get done.
2016 Hobby Resolutions
During 2016 I want to paint an Imperial Knight, I want to finish the Assassinorum Execution Force boxed game and I want to add the Space Wolves from the Stormclaw boxed set to my Army of the Imperium project. I also want to use up the remaining Space Marine models from my Megaforce I’ve had for a few years now.
2015 Resolution Recap
I actually did ok with last years promised resolutions. I completed my Black Legion, I completed the Dark Vengeance set and I completed the Deathstorm set. I failed by not even starting Smaug, Eldar Ghost Warriors set or the Stormclaw boxed game.

2015 was pretty cool. I saw a lot of my work in White Dwarf Weekly and Warhammer Visions including a huge Army of the Month feature on my Tyranids. I also went to the Warhammer World Grand Opening and the 40k Open Day. All in all not a bad hobby year.

Would love to see your Smaug! I was very lucky and got one for Christmas/Birthday. It is an amazing model. I have never used a paint gun before and it is quite intimidating. I wont be starting until I have finished my PhD though. Would be great to see yours and (possibly more importantly) read any tips you have!
Looking forward to seeing your space wolves
Did you complete Space Hulk last year, or is it planned for 2016?
I didn't complete it and nothing is planned lol.
The Smaug model looked so cool that I went looking for one to buy; then I saw the price. Yikes! I've been kicking around ideas for the Space Hulk BA, and decided that the typical BA coloring is too bright to reflect the shadowy confines of a space hulk; I'm thinking about using a more Word-Bearers-like scheme.
So many awesome models! Definitely an inspiration for my 2016, I have to say!
Are you off to the birthday bash this weekend?
I didn't even know it was on.
You should consider continue painting more necron stuff, your colour scheme is ace.
That's a good call. I wonder if the army is big enough for a Warhammer Visions feature? The word bearer army in this month's is smallish based on previous examples. Hmmm something to think about.
