I painted a bunch of Leman Russ battle tanks for a customer recently. Two Eradicators and one Russ. Good times. I really missed painting those chaps.
The Russ is of the old kind, the Eradicators naturally are the newer kit. What I noticed about those is that I think I prefer the older model actually. All those asymetric bits and the more pronounced details on the sides and top of the hull just look nicer to me.
On the other hand of course there’s that huge amount of options and whatnot you get on the new kits. As far as I’m aware they come with almost no stowage to speak of. In this regard of course the 2005-ish(?) Russ kit with the additional track guards and stowage items I think was the nicest version of this kit.
What do you think?

Wow, these tanks are looking nice. which paints did you use? A tutorial would be great. 🙂
yeah i really miss the track guards, so handy for adding storage and such onto the flat surfaces…puxzzled why GW dropped them. models are nice paint job too by the way…good colour contrast
Interesting to see old and new in one picture. I miss the accessoire sprue with the tank covers, those were pretty nice.
