The Khainite Shadowstalkers have been sent into the Eight points by Morathi to venture deep into the Varanthax’s Maw to seek out precious Varanite. After the jump check out some close ups and get the low down on how I painted their skin.
This warband was great fun to paint, but assembling them was fiddly and I had a couple of breakages. Nothing major and easily fixed. I went for a tradition Dark Eldar colour scheme of Dark Purples and Blues and borrowed the Pink Hair idea from Witch Elves but I painted it much darker to fit their shadowy nature.
Here’s my recipe for the skin:
Base coat Rakarth Flesh
Wash the skin with an 1 part Warp fiend Grey + 1 part Stormvermin Fur + 5 parts Lahmian Medium
Once dry wash it with 1 part Reikland Flesh + 1 part Lahmian Medium Mix.
Pick out the raised areas with Grey Seer
Edge highlight with thin lines of Pallid Flesh
In this picture you can see the Stormcast of the Primal Kings suddenly realising the treacherous nature of their Order allies as the Khainites turn on Sigmar’s finest.

They look fantastic. Thanks for sharing. Man, how I wish this was an Underworlds warband instead.
