Really, really like the model. Just how a Space Marine Commander should look like. I love how the cloak drapes over the shoulder pads.
I use the same techniques for character models as on regular guys as I think it makes the whole army look more homogeneous. But of course I tried extra hard to create an as clean and accurate paint job as possible.

Hi there,
sure for the eagle I used a basecoat of Bestial Brown, washed it with Devlan Mud, then I layered Snakebite Leather and highlighted with a mix of Snakebite Leather and Bleached Bone and finally with pure Bleached Bone.
The gold areas were painted with Vallejo Game Colour Shining Gold, then I painted VGC Brown Ink in the recesses and highlighted with Mithril Silver.
The cloak was basecoated with Mechrite Red, then I painted Scab Red in the recesses followed by thinned Chaos Black. Then I applied highlights with Blood Red and finally VGC Filthy Brown (Vomit Brown).
That is an awesome paint job for your captain. Would you mind sharing the info on what you used for the eagle on the banner, the gold trim, and then cloak?
