Skabrus used to be a huge Orb Leviathan which ate the flagship of Sketch of Clan Scurvy. Sketch and his crew of Skaven ate the Orb Leviathan from the inside out, but died in the process along with the huge sea creature. Count Noctilus resurrected the beast and in doing so unwittingly brought Sketch and his crew back as undead. This cool background fluff, really makes this model a lot of fun to paint. I tried a different approach with this model. I undercoated it a bone colour and then used washes to shade the bone. Then I highlighted the areas normally.
Completing Skabrus leaves me with the High Elf Sea Drake and the small Cog ships to paint. I can see the end in sight… Land A’hoy!

I'm not sure what my favourite one is. I really liked painting the Black Kraken because it was the model that helped me rejuvenate my interest in Dreadfleet and made me want to paint a couple more ships straight away. Skabrus definitely has the best fluff though out of all of the ships.
Unsurprisingly my favourite Dreadfleet model!
