I haven’t been painting that much recently. I’ve been quite busy with birthdays, work functions, friends and so on. So sadly I’m a little behind with my Toxicrene. After the jump you can see how far I am with it’s lash whips.
Everything on the main body is painted by hand, however, the lash whip arms are airbrushed for no other reason other than it’s quicker. I’ve spent years perfecting blending colours by hand, so when this model is finished the hand blending and the airbrush blending works in unison. I don’t want this model to look airbrushed.

Your "Chtulhu thing" is coming out really cool Garfy!! 😉
How do you get the red to 'pop' so much?
Looking great so far. Can't wait to see your pattern on the carapace of this one.
Great work!
Looks good. Can't wait to see it all together.
Looking fantastic! So neat and tidy even at a work in progress stage. The airbrush tentacles look great and the colours are just right
That is just great work, love the blends, both of them, hand and airbrush!
Really nice! I love your colour scheme – reminds me of 2nd edition Nids which is about the era my paint style is pitched at. Looking forward to seeing what he looks like when finished as (what with your handy painting tutorial and all) your scheme is the one I would most likely do if I started a Nid army, and this is the model that would most likely tempt me to start a Nid army!
Looks awsome!
