Hey all, today I thought I’d show my new Tyranid Spawn of Cryptus from the recently released Deathstorm set. The model is fairly nice and comes on a new oval base. I painted this model in just over 2 hours. Which I’m quite impressed with as I think he turned out alright. After painting the model I noticed that the front horn thing on his head never existed with the model I had. Its a bit of a shame as if I had noticed before painting I would have returned the model and got a new one. But besides I guess it makes the model look a bit more unique and could always be green stuffed on. I will in the next few day show progress on my own Death Guard army also speed painted. Did anyone else pick up the Deathstorm set?

Was a tutorial ever done on that white flesh?
Cant wait for the tutorial, This looks amazing!
I think the flesh on these white models looks awesome. I don't remember what that big thing with the spikes on its back on its back was but that had a ton of flesh melding into white and it was super neat.
I vote for a tutorial on that.
It's coming. It will be a fairly easy tutorial and cheers for the kind words.
But when! Have wanted a tutorial ever since I saw your exocrine! Such a beautiful colour scheme!

Since T.E.N is a bit shy I'll just pimp his Youtube channel for him he already has some tutorials there which give a pretty good idea of how he works and you can extrapolate from there 😉

Help !!!! I'm being pimped out 🙂
well you deserve a little pimping 😉
watched a couple of your videos and they are amazing!
looking forward to a little tutorial. It looks painfully simple on the one side, but its all the little details that make it super interesting!
Can we please get a tutorial on how you paint your models? I realize you use an airbrush but for us new airbrush owners it could help a pinch
I will do at some point, but I am so bogged down with work and have virtually zero free time. But will try to do something in the new year when work calms down.
I would love to see the tutorial. Also love your painting style!!
I'll third that opinion! I'd love to see that tutorial.
Promise I will get a tutorial up 100% some point in January.
Nice Spawn of Cryptus there. If I were you, I'd ping GW Customer Services an email explaining that you got a broken SoC model in your Deathstorm box. They'll probably send you some sort of recompense or a new model.
Aww man I wish I could but I think its a bit to late to do that. I also bought it from a independent store who could get funny about it as I have already painted the model. And may think I'm pulling a fast one trying to get a second model.
Nah just call GW customer service and tell them about it. Normally they'll send you a new one, no questions asked. You don't need to have bought it from GW direct either.
On your new model, you will also be able to glue the tongue upside-up : )
Sorry for double-posting… Really love your technique anyway, it is really impressive to do it in only two hours. Thank you for sharing your work, thank you for the videos and tutorials, so inspiring. Cheers, ReN
I'll give them a call after Christmas. But I get the feeling they might think I'm pulling a fast one, seeing I already have one painted and I'm not going to give it back.
Man that looks great! I like the color scheme! Could you please add a list of paints which you use. 🙂
That's great, looks proper creepy
