Hey all, to start the new year off I have begun painting some Orruk Brutes.
I have had these models laying around since last autumn. It was one of those many impulse buys that ended up in a large pile of GW boxes that I have stockpiled. The models themselves are really nice. They all have quite dramatic poses, which I can imagine a large group of them would look pretty cool. The models also have two options of weapons that you can equip them with. As with the Ironjawz Megaboss that I painted a few months ago I went with a slightly lighter green skin colour than a more brighter green. So far as to finish I still need to paint up the armour that goes on the shoulders and chests, and also the skulls etc that go on top off the shoulder pads. What do you think so far?

Your style is perfect for these models.
How did you do the skin tone on the orcs i really like it and would like to try it myself
Would like to know also your take on the white skin.
I love how all of your painting looks the same.
Nah, it actually does not. Sorry Felix.
That Anon is obviously stupid. Keep up the great work mate. Stan
They look awesome, like your other ironjawz published earlier. They have heavily inspired and influenced my still small but ever growing army of ironjawz.
Yeah, the Orruk models are really nice. I reckon army of them would be awesome!
Agree with the first comment: they looks unexpectedly beautiful without the breast armor. I loved a lot your work on the megaboss, these one look similarly gorgeous! I can't imagine a 4k pts army of these orruk on a battlefield, it would look very savage and brutal :p
Btw did you base the armors in black or is it a metallic paint?
Makes me wonder in the future if you could green stuff the chest holes in and make other alterations to keep them more fleshy. The armour was based black. I very rarely paint armour solid metallic, unless I have too.
Thanks for the information!
It could be a great idea, and especially original as I never seen this before. And not very difficult to sculpt (and even more easy for a talentued person like you!).
Keep up the good work
You could even add fur on top of the armour and break up the plate shape to make it look like pelts too. Savage AF. 😛
Your probably could with green stuff if you modelled it. I reckon that would look cool!!
I try to figure out how great they must look without a Torso Armour…?
Could someone talented resculpt these? 🙂
Yeah, I sort of agree! They are quite nice without the armour!
Seriously, they look great without the armor! If you could take the back plate off too that would be stellar, but even as-is, it almost seems like they left this as an option on purpose, the underlying muscles are so well-sculpted. Just green stuff the nipples and bob's your uncle! (Things I never thought I'd type…)
