OVERKILL BABY! I love a good boxed game and this is a good game! The models are just incredible. This is one of the best things Games Workshop has ever made and I’m loving painting my first two models from the set. I have been photographing every step of these and I will be producing tutorials, so watch this space!

LOL already done two?!? Great work Garfy!
I'd been managing to hold off on buying Overkill but you've just broken my resolve! I love your painting style, it's what I aim for with mine. I can't wait for this tutorial!
Mate you can legit learn everything you need to know from his other tutorials.
For example theres a Death company tutorial that will show you how to paint 90% of what hes done on these.
If you want Grey knight arms there a tutorial for that, red bolters? any Spacemarine tutorial.
As he said before he doesn't change recipes so you can find any tutorial hes done and look at the colours hes used for specific parts then incorporate that using his technique into your Death Watch. No waiting required.
New tutorial for Cassius is looking like it's going to be 53 steps. My biggest to date. I'm putting in more effort.
Lovely work as usual! But if I had to find something wrong It could be the technique that you used to paint the arms. However looking forward to the rest
Do you have to find something wrong? No one asked you to.
Tell us why its so good Garfy. Grey Knight arms??
Judging by the pic your going to be doing the same black seen in your other tutorial.
Something different would be cool. Maybe whip out the airbrush for a change.
Why would I change my recipes when this is for a cohesive Army of the Imperium project. I want it all to match and fit in. Changing styles would be idiotic.
Yeh he paints in a particular style like most painters/artists, would you say the same to third eye who also paints in a certain way?
If you personally don't like his style then fine go search for something else but I can assure you his painting skill is excellent and doesn't need changing.
I had the airbrush out for the Baal Predator, The Imperial Knight, The Dark Angel Drop Pod. Plenty of airbrushing being done. Airbrush imo is the wrong tool for these tiny models with intricate details.
Completely agree to be honest, it's great for the large panels but the small stuff needs a brush to pick out the details for me.
Having said that though I have been enjoying airbrushing some colour changing armour on a few alpha legion models recently using zenithal metallic highlights and layering of clear colours over the top, creates a lovely finish. That is a particular scheme though and everything else is still finished by brush.

No shit. Who would have guessed that the airbrush is not the right tool for small details on small models.
Glad you didn't commit the heresy of painting those Alpha legion entirely with an airbrush.
I never said anything about not liking his style.
damn fine work so far 🙂
TOP!! Watching out for the rest to come…..
Love them…
Love them more than the 'eavy metal ones, and the old skool "official" dark red bolters, great.
Can't wait for the rest of the team (and a tute)

Also, will your genestealer cultists be part of your hive fleet?
If so REALLY looking forward to them.
I'm going to stay true to the classic blue scheme
Lovely work so far Garfy, they are very nice models 🙂
Excellent job as always, can't wait to put paint to them myself when I get a chance. They really are superb minis.
