I’ve finished my Treelord Ancient for my Sylvaneth army. It took a while to paint and is very detailed, I’m glad to finish him and I’m really pleased with the outcome! Click to view more photos after the jump!

I decided to spend a little longer on my Treelord Ancient and highlight everything rather than use a drybrush, this meant it took a lot longer but I’m much happier with it and think it was worth it. The main bark is Mournfang Brown, shaded Agrax Earthshade and highlighted Skrag Brown, Deathclaw Brown and a mix of Deathclaw Brown and White.

The green parts were painted Deathworld Forest, shaded Athonian Camoshade and highlighted Elysian Green, Ogryn Camo and a mix of Ogryn Camo and White.

I then chose to pick out spot colours with red, I’ve used two different tones of red on the model. A Khorne Red, Wazdaka Red, Squig Orange mix for the loincloth and then a Mephiston Red, Evil Sunz Scarlet, Wild Rider Red mix for the hair. The leaves were Wild Rider Red, highlighted a mix of Wild Rider Red and White, glazed Bloodletter and then edge highlighted the Wild Rider Red and White mix again.

I’m really pleased with how the model turned out, I’m glad I spent a little longer on it. I’ve been really busy recently writing my thesis, so I’ve not had much time to paint. So I’m glad it’s done, and I’m excited to move on to the next part of the army, although I’m not sure what it will be yet!
