WIP: Dark Angels Hellblasters and Inceptor

Since I cancelled my Conquest subscription, I’ve been working on Warcry and Beastgrave. Both of these Games Workshop games are excellent and I’ve had a blast painting and playing some games but it’s time to return to the projects I abandoned at the start of the summer. Starting with Dark Angels. Find out what else is on the ‘to do’ list after the jump.

Let’s start by taking a look at all the models I own.

Lets break this down into what’s assembled and undercoated:

So the above list is basically what’s on my desk to do. Let’s group them into projects. 

1. Thorns of the Briar Queen
2. 5x Dark Angel Infiltrators, 2x Hellblaster, 1x Inceptor, Phobos Captain, Phobos Lieutenant 
3. 3x Stormcast Evocators
4. 2x Obliterators, 1x Venom Crawler, Chaos Sorcerer, 2x Chaos Chosen

1. Thorns of the Briar Queen are seven models from the Nightvault boxset. I’ve already painted the Stormcast from that set so completing these will give me a completed boxed game. 

2. Out of all the Dark Angels the prime candidates to be painted first are the Hellblasters and Inceptor. These complete the squads I have already started. That leaves seven models left to paint. 

3. I only have three models in my Stormcast collection left to paint. These three models are prime candidates to finish quickly to to bring my Stormcast collection up to 2350pts.

4. This group of models is the Chaos Space Marine half of the Shadowspear boxed game I bought. I haven’t assembled the 10 Chaos Space Marines yet. There looks to be a lot of work to do here.

I think I can complete projects 1, 2 and 3 before the end of the year. It works out to be a unit a week. I think then I can evaluated and decide what I want to get out of 2020. Will it be a new army? Or do I go back to Deathguard and Black Legion? Maybe 2020 is the year of Chaos and I buy Mortorion and Abaddon.  Watch this space!
