Another month of #taleoftuesdays, another warband. After Arcane missed his deadline last week (shame! shame! shame!), it’s my turn to step in and present you the start of my second warband. I went for Ironsoul’s Condemnors, leftover from my Dreadfane box, and also the first Stormcast I ever painted! Find out more after the jump.
I remember I didn’t like Stormcasts initially when Age of Sigmar came out, their design felt a bit out of place in a game that was basically Warhammer Fantasy models on round bases. But since then, the setting evolved, more and more new factions emerged, and I’ve happened to warm up to Stormcasts.
The paint scheme is of the Stormblood Guard, which I slightly tweaked to a warmer silver for the armour and deep crimson robes. Most of the areas that aren’t metallic were basecoated with Contrast paints or washes over Wraithbone primer, to save some time and to gain experience with Contrast paints, then layered and highlighted with regular paints.
Make sure to check back next Tuesday to see what Garfy’s has up his sleeves – I heard he wants to paint a third warband since he finished his second one already this month.
