Introducing my Hive Fleet Kraken splinter fleet Tyranid Warrior, the formidable leader of my upcoming Hive Fleet Kill Team. In this showcase blog post, witness my rendition of this relentless killing machine, sporting the deadly bonesword and lash-whip combination, backed up by a gruesome Deathspitter.
The model serves as the leader of my Compendium Hive Fleet Kill Team. To mark the Warrior as the leader organism, I took care during assembly to choose a particularly commanding pose. I attached glands to the model’s back, representing a special connection to the hive mind. Additionally, I chose the head armour intended for the Alpha Prime, as well as its tail tip. However, I omitted the extended shoulder armour to depict that the model is the leader of a Kill Team but not a fully grown Alpha Prime.

Head over to my Instagram channel and show it some love if you haven’t already 😉 Painting-wise, I stuck to my free Hive Fleet Kraken splinter fleet tutorial you can find here on the blog. Like with my Hormagaunts, I made the flesh slightly lighter. I did this by basecoating the model with Vallejo Game Air Scar Red, followed by zenithal highlights of Game Air Barbarian Flesh and Game Air Dead White. Apart from this change, I followed my tutorial to the letter.
