As announced, a short break from painting Skaven. For my Eldar army I’m going to paint up a box of Fire Dragons and Prince Yriel. I’m glad I got them in good old bubble free metal before they were finecasted. Currently I’m assembling them which isn’t too hard because most of them are single piece models so it’s just sanding down mold lines, which isn’t too hard when you got the right tools.

Nice .. the Dragons are always a great unit. They look good and preform well. Land Raiders beware! 8)
Smart move. Every once in a while one needs a change in painting, otherwise you go insane. 😉 Or at least get very bored with your army. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how your Eldar turn out. I have this weird love-hate-relationship with Eldar. On one hand they are looking so great, have a great history as an army and very cool background. On the other hand I'm heavily traumatized by Wraithlords and Falcons. :p
Anyhow, looking forward to the results of your Eldar!
I've got a couple of units of these that I don't need any more (the finecast ones though) so I think I'll paint them to sell on… I'm looking forward to seeing your scheme!
I'm going to paint them to blend into my army, so the helmets will be white with a black face mask, bone/Dheneb Stone coloured weapons, red coloured straps and inspired by Rev's Fire Dragons the armour will be brown, the same brown that I painted the leather on my other Eldar models. So Dark Flesh basecoat, washed with badab Black, highlighted with Dark Flesh and Vermin Brown.
Any ideas on colour scheme. Are you going to go traditional or will you come up with a custom scheme?
Good to you, a change is as good as a rest they say. Looking forward to seeing something from you without fur!!
I really love the Fire Dragon Exarch, one of the best GW sculpts ever!
