This Venerable Dreadnought is from my 2011 Space Marine Megaforce. I really want to try and make a dent in this set because it’s been hanging around for so long. I plan on cannibalising the tactical marines inside the set using my extensive bitz box and chapter specific upgrade sprues. It should mean I can create some good units for my Armies of the Imperium project like my Blood Angel Assault Marines I recently finished. Watch this space.

Maybe change the colour.
Polite is good. Then use the multi melta. Never thought to drill the guns. Will do.
Unfortunately no matter the level of painting technique used, the colour will always be wrong. As a Venerable Dreadnought, it will be in the Dark Angels 1st Company and should therefore be bone coloured and not dark green. This is simple basic research. Also, drill your storm bolter holes, it's a simple task that make any model look so much better.
Rawr.
Don't worry about the barrels. I've never posted a showcase thread with undrilled barrels. So make sure you check back when it's finished.
Also, the dead marine in this venerable dreadnought was a captain who never fought for the Deathwing. In fact before he died, he told me he never wanted to fight in the Deathwing… somethings about feathers tickle him or something.
That was a very kind way to handle a nasty commenter. Kings to you, Garfy!
Thanks josh 🙂
I agree on the politeness, I would probably drop kick someone who said that to my face 🙂
I might have opted for the shoulders with the gentle curve to echo the arches, but they look a little fat, so maybe it didn't look very good? Anyway, I'm excited to see this sucker. That blending is superb.
I wanted a classic shape dreadnought, hence the powerfist, assault cannon and squared off shoulders. I'd argue the squared off shoulders fit better with the squared off sarcophagus.
Nice blending
Lovely. I always thought that combining all the arched bits would make a great DA dreadnought. Looking forward to the finished model.
