The first combat squad is done, now onto the second. I’ve started with a batch of three models, including a Plasma gunner and the Sergeant. The remaining two models will be reworks of existing paint jobs (not shown on the picture above).
So far I made good progress on the armour. I realized that MkIII armour takes much longer to paint than other marks – so many segments and rivets to pick out. Thankfully it’s only one model 😉 What do you think?

Stahly is the founder of Tale of Painters. He lives in Craftworld Hamburg, located in the north of Germany, where he walks the Path of the Graphic Designer. He transitioned from Lego to Games Workshop models at the tender age of 11 and didn't look back ever since. He is known for bold colour schemes and sharp edge highlights, which he paints with typical German perfectionism (one of the reason he is such a notoriously slow painter).
Great job as usual Stahly !
It nearly gives me the courage to update my own collection of Ultramarines from Rogue Trader to now.
Keep up the good work !
I really love the super clean, simple style you have on these XD
Can't wait to see that tutorial 😛
And great as usual, Stahly!
Nice! So consistent and clean, can't wait to see the squad done!
