Merry Christmas to our dear readers! Apologies for the bad picture, but I hope you can make out that I made good progress on my Razorwing. The hull is finished, it looks a bit messy because of brushed on varnish I used to seal the edges and transfers. But once the model gets a final coat of matt varnish it won’t be noticable anymore. Now I just need to paint the missiles and dark lances. Fingers crossed that I’ll be able to complete this model this year! What do you think so far?

Hi Dieter, check out this tutorial to see what I do: http://taleofpainters.blogspot.de/2011/12/tutorial-painted-on-looking-decals.html
What kind of matte coat will you use when finished? Model us a knock out. Well done.
It's a satin varnish by Grenius Pro which is only carried in German DIY store Toom Baumarkt. Cheers!
Looks great Stahly. Is that brush on varnish to hide the edges of the decals? I can never get them to go invisible. Drives me nuts.
I'm almost sad to see the end of the Tale of the Mega Painters series. It's a been great fun motivating each other to paint our mega forces.
This model is a wonderful kit and I don't blame you for swapping it with the bikes in the Mega Force. Your paint job looks stunning so far. Can't wait to see it finished.
Looking back at the previous posts I see that you guys have no tutorials on chaos daemons. Perhaps that could be a nice challenge, a place where most of you did not venture. 🙂
Looks great so far! Is this all brush work or do you have some airbrush in there too?
The model was basecoated dark purple with an airbrush, after which I sprayed on a very subtle purple highlight. The rest is brushwork then.
