So I’ve put some work into my Contemptor Dreadnough from Betrayal at Calth. I painted the base and the metal areas, and basecoated and shaded the red armour. I also added a banner top from the Blood Angels chapter upgrade sprue to emphasize the Blood Angels theme. I’ll start painting the body, then move on to the arms. Can’t wait to get going.
Who picked up Betrayal at Calth and has already painted this model?

Here's my first (I was also using it to test out the GW airbrush paints): https://www.flickr.com/photos/mrblightside/23195231656/in/dateposted-public/
Yeah I'm on my 3rd out of that box right now. I found that with some clever basing the fixed pose isn't as bad…and it's an amazing model to test out different army schemes on (luckily it's also an easy one to unload on eBay). I'm loving it. Going to do a full talon for my freshly started imperial fists army.
Looking good! How does the height compare to the oldest rogue trader era dreadnoughts? (Match my set??) Mine are 2 and 1/8 inches.
Looking great so far….i only painted the Captain and a Sergeant in the colors of the Sons of Horus from that box.
Shame the legs are such a static pose, I think a cut-and-shunt of the plastic so one leg is turned slightly outward and maybe stepping on a rock will help immensly. Your paint job looks great tho, I will attempt another Relictor paintjob when I get around to mine eventually… Warlord Titan construction is taking up all my time at present!!
I do. Very lovely model. Been waiting so long for it.
These are the pictures of mine
