Garfy’s 2021 Hobby Resolution and Recap of 2020
Celebrating the Last 12 month’s of hobby output is an annual tradition here at Tale of Painters. I’m going to take a look back through the year and share what I managed to paint and how many of my 2020 hobby resolutions I succeeded in completing. I’ll also share my 2021 resolutions.
Showcase: Bloodcrushers of Khorne
Hellblade wielding Bloodletters astride a rampaging Juggernaut is the stuff of nightmares. These Bloodcrushers are led by a Bloodhunter, they’re keen to use their Decapitating Blow to take the Skulls for Khorne. I’m not sure how many skulls are going to be left intact after the Brazen Hooves have trampled the enemy to mush.
ToP Tip: How to Accurately Drill your Gun Barrels
Have you been on the the receiving end of online hobbyists who’s only comment on your excellent paint job is “Drill your barrels out”. Have you ever experienced the fear of drilling a muzzle hole on your 40K weapons? It’s that potential catastrophe of it not being dead centre. Is it really that important? No, of course it isn’t important. It’s your hobby and you don’t have to drill them out. However, if you’d like a ToP Tip on an easier and more accurate way to drill your muzzles then read on!
Showcase: Dark Angels Ravenwing Outriders
Vroom vrroooooom! Space Marine bikes are back! These slabs or armoured engine are long, low slung and oversized and perfect for their Primaris riders. They’re perfect mounts for my Primaris Ravenwing, now the Primaris can get involved in the hunt for Cypher and the Fallen.
Showcase: Necron Warriors and Scarabs
Welcome to my first blog post on the new Tale of Painters site. Stahly has done an amazing job on the new website, it’s so good! Anyway, enough of that. I’m here to talk about my newly finished Necron Warriors and Scarabs.
Showcase: Warcry Khainite Shadowstalkers
The Khainite Shadowstalkers have been sent into the Eight points by Morathi to venture deep into the Varanthax’s Maw to seek out precious Varanite. After the jump check out some close ups and get the low down on how I painted their skin.
Review: Warcry Grand Alliance Chaos, Death, Order and Destruction books
I’ve got 4 video reviews for you today. A video for each Warcry Grand Alliance
book. Check out what I thought of these collective tomes after the jump.
Review: Warcry: Tome of Champions 2020
Games Workshop has kindly sent me a copy of Tome of Champions 2020 to check out and share my thoughts with. If you want to test your warband by Pit Fighting, or campaign in Soroth Kor the Silent City or maybe you and a friend want to take on a Mega Gargant or a Greater Daemon of Tzeentch then you’re going to want this book! Read my review after the jump.
ToP Tip: Getting your Static Grass to Stand Up
What do you think? I’ve always flicked my bases, how about you? What do you do with your static grass, let me know in the comments.
Showcase: Warcry Scions of the Flame warband
These zealots are the embodiment of the Realm of Fire. They truly believe they are made stronger by embracing Aqshian magic and hunting the beasts that Realm and performing rituals such as eating the hearts of Magmavores and Ash Salamanders. Those who are worthy become living flames and their weapons burning white hot and igniting in flame. Those who are unworthy are burnt to a cinder. Ultimately, all they want is to follow Archaon as he sets the Mortal Realms ablaze. More close up pictures of my newly finished warband after the jump.
